This Decadron enabled Howard to sleep better than in ages last night . It's amazing, especially considering that's she's taking only two mg of the stuff per day. Gwen said they use this drug with terminal cancer patients to help control their pain without throwing them into unconsciousness. It must be powerful stuff. And it seems to be having a cumulative effect.

Yesterday was another good day for Howard as well. She's still concerned that, in her words, the drug distorts her perspective. But without that nagging pain she was in a light-hearted humor all day, talking about new projects, clearing her desk and enjoying two glasses of wine during and after supper. Even though all this exhausted her so that she was ready to crash just after the supper hour, there were longer stretches of quality time, undistorted by something hurting.

Lila dropped by in the afternoon bringing Howard another bottle of that lovely Zinfandel from Frey Vineyards. Other than pizza and seeing her favorite people, two things are certain to light up Howard's eyes: a good red wine and a smooth dark chocolate.

Have a happy Thursday.

Dear Ones, I feel I have been stranded on an island since my job started picking up.I am looking around a bit today and able to reach out to my beloveds. I begin actual full time employment as early as next week, so the luxury of 3 day weekends is nearly over. I plan to enjoy this one fully! It makes me grin to read your blog and see that you are both doing as well as you are.
Blessings,
Darcy <3
